Patents of Invention

An invention is a technical solution to a problem. Section 1(1) of schedule I of the Bangui Accord of 1977 as amended in 1999 provides that: “A new invention involving an inventive step and which is industrially applicable may be the subject of a patent.” At OAPI all patent applications are examined for novelty on world scale. 

The details we shall require to proceed with the preparation and filing of your patent application are as follows:

  1. Full name & address (including nationality) of the applicant(s);
  2. Title of invention; 
  3. Name and address of Inventor(s);                                                                                   
  4. Detailed description of the object of invention (3copies);
  5. Formal drawings of the invention in A4 size (3 copies);
  6. Descriptive abstract of the object of invention (3 copies);
  7. Claims;
  8. Priority claim and priority document (if applicable);
  9. Assignment of priority rights (if applicable);
  10. Power of attorney (notarisation not required).

N.B: The above is true also for Certificate of Addition.
